Happy #Halloween from One Blogger to Another!

“- Winifred Sanderson: Therefore, it stands to reason, does it not, sisters dear? That we must find the book, brew the potion and suck the lives out of the children of Salem before sunrise. Otherwise it's curtains.
We - evaporate! We cease to exist! Dost thou comprehend?
- Mary Sanderson: You explained it beautifully, Winnie. They way in which you started out with the adventure part and slowly...
- Sarah: Explained what?
- Winifred Sanderson: Come, we fly!”

#CoverReveal: KISS ME WITH LIES by S.M. Soto

INKSlinger PR is bringing us another Cover Reveal! I love hosting things like this on the blog! Be sure you check out all this post has to offer! And if you have a moment; share the word on this reveal!

Cover & Book Info

Two sisters. One unsolved murder. A sickening plot for revenge.

When Mackenzie Wright attends her first real high school party, held somewhere deep in the woods of her small California town, no one expects to wake up the next morning to news of a gruesome murder. Especially not her own sister’s.

No suspects.

No motive.

No convictions.

Just one unsolved murder and whatever’s left of the now deserted town.

Mackenzie has spent years with her sister’s death weighing heavily on her shoulders, but it isn’t until she stumbles across a photograph that changes everything for her. The memories, everything from that night, come flashing back in high-speed technicolor and Mackenzie soon finds herself obsessed with the truth.

Determined to find out what really happened to her sister, Mackenzie relies on that one photograph to give her the answers she needs by embedding herself into the lives of five of the wealthiest men in Los Angeles. Consumed by her need for revenge, Mackenzie infiltrates the world of the rich and elite, only to come face-to-face with an alluring complication in the form an elusive playboy.

When enemy lines are drawn, Mackenzie has to choose between her loyalty to her sister and the man who has stolen her heart.

Top Ten Tuesday #1

It's Tuesday! Which means; thanks to That Artsy Reader Girl it is another day of awesome top 10 things throughout the bookish world.

The Top This Week Is: Halloween Freebie
I know there are probably Several directions I can take this; but I am not sure which one I want to go in! So I think I am just going to stick with my favorite Halloween Movies.. I feel like you cannot go wrong with this one! Oh! And the kids costumes, of course! I know it is just the braggy mom in me; but aren't they precious! (in this moment. Don't let those adorable faces fool you!)

The Super Cute Mini Demons
Okay; so.. I realized I haven't gotten a picture of my daughter in her costume yet, it's been non stop softball around here lol.. But I do have pictures of them in their super cute "Halloween Pajamas" as they call them! So we will go with that (;

Favorite Halloween Movies
So, in my house, there is really only 2 ways we can take this. Literally. Mom and Daughter's favorite movie, and Dad and Son's favorite movie. So we just watch them both; a lot.

Now, while I do love The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus will forever be my favorite. I believe at this point, I can quote the entire thing without even watching the movie. I don't know what it is about it, but I haven't been able to find something that tops this yet. I am completely okay with this though!

Discuss With Me!

What is YOUR favorite Halloween Movie(s)?
Are you dressing up this year?
If you have kids, what are they going to be?
I'd love to hear from you!

Book Review: Exception by Mariah Dietz

Title: Exception
by: Mariah Dietz
Published: Jan 9, 2018

He’s arrogant.
Loud.
Rude.
And to make matters worse, he looks good doing it—too good.

Joey DeLuca should have been nothing but a maddening memory, a blip on my radar during my three month sabbatical in my small hometown while I get back on my feet.

My time back home was supposed to be simple. Easy. Fast.
But he’s everywhere I go, invading my thoughts, and stealing my attention.
Is it possible to hate the same person I can’t get enough of?
Is there really an exception to every rule?

Broken Soul Rating

Thoughts On The Novel:

People of the book world. Have you ever read a book where things touched you - but at the same time; things bugged you? This book was both fantastic and frustrating at the same time. I don't know if it was just because I thought things were going to go a certain way; but there were parts of this novel that touched my heart, rocked my socks and made me want to punt someone all at the same time.

I loved every single thing (okay, almost) about Kennedy. I mean even her name! She is head strong, she knows where she wants to end up in life - she has just hit a patch trying to get there. She seems to have spent a good part of her life settling just because she thought where she was is where she was meant to be. She is insanely loyal - which leads to most of the issues that seem to arise in her life. She has gotten herself into a situation she cannot seem to see any way out of and ultimately ends up back in her home town.. the one place she said she would never come back to once she left. The thing is, everyone there is happy to see her and asking her how long she plans to stay. The town has grown, the people have expanded and life has gone on in the little town she thought would never change.

Enter Joey Deluca. No one WANTS to end up hating the man who is suppose to win the girls heart. While hate is a strong bit of a word, I seriously disliked Deluca. There is a fine line between arrogant and alpha - and he crossed it just about every change he got. Over and over he showed us just why Kennedy shouldn't fall for him. While yes, he had his moments - to me they were not big enough to outshine all the insanity that seems to be just the person he is. He is rude, very arrogant, un-trusting and has the bad habit of blaming every single annoying habit of his on his job as a detective.

The story itself was a cute read and had some awesome parts. I loved the ends and out of the novel. I loved getting to know the characters and reading about how it all comes together. To me there just wasn't enough. I felt like some of the lines were overplayed, some of the issues were underplayed and some things just seemed to have been thrown in there to cause a little extra drama, but it just got slightly overwhelming with all the players in this novel.

The secondary characters were up there in my rating there. Joey's brother Coen, his fiancee and her little boy were awesome characters. I actually like Coen more than Joey. Kennedy's sister and parents were a big part of the novel as well, but I am still up in the air on her sister. That whole story lined bothered me just a little. I had such high hopes going into this novel and some if it just didn't do it for me. While this one might not have worked, I am very open to trying other novels from this author! Like I said - this is just my opinion so I def would want everyone to read it for themselves!

Series In A Month Challenge

Because Reading is better than real life

The ladies over at Because Reading are hosting this awesome challenge! You can read the rules; check out the awesomeness and sign up HERE! I personally love to read series. I like the fact that it keeps some of my favorite characters alive for more than just one novel. Sometimes, I just do not want to give them up!

Personally; I struggled to figure out which series I was going to go with. I have literally been sitting on posting this for about a week now, because I just could not narrow it down. I BELIEVE I have finally decided on The Body Armor Series by Lori Foster! She is one of my favorite authors and I have had these for awhile now, just haven't sat down to read them. So what better time than now!

Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme. Be sure to take a few mins to visit other blogs taking part! You never know what kind of bookish things you'll learn or like-minded friends you will make!
---------------------------------------------------------------
This is actually my first one of these! I thought it was a super cute idea, so I wanted to join in on the fun. My blog is new to the blogging community; but I've done this once before - about 7 years ago. I blogged for 2 years and the life just kind of told me I didn't have the time for it! Since I blogged last; my daughter is now 13 and I have a son who is 6 - who was not even around when I blogged the first time! It's crazy how things change so quickly! I am a nurse now; going for my Paramedic license - we live in a completely different state and things are just insane lol. I wouldn't change it for anything though and I am excited to be getting back into something I enjoy!

What's Your Favorite Horror Book-To-Movie Adaptation?

Oh Man! This one is a bit tricky for me! While I LOVE Halloween; seriously, it is mu favorite holiday aside from Christmas - I am not entirely all that thrilled when it comes to horror movies. I'm a huge baby, actually... I would honestly have to say the NEW IT movies by Stephen King.. Not the old ones; because compared to the new ones, those are tame lol.

What was YOUR favorite?!
Share with me; we can compare notes!
