Okay; So. If you stopped in last week; you know my dad had a heart attack and things were kind of all over the place. He actually ended up having double bypass on Wednesday and is recovering nicely! The surgeon said both arteries are looking way better than they ever could and that he doesn't see any issues with his recovery. The nurses and his doctor say he is actually recovering quicker than most who have this surgery; so I'd say that is a plus! He is still in the hospital; so I am still spending my days with school; the kids school; after school things; homework for them and myself; keeping them alive, fed and in one piece; making sure the mister doesn't think I've forgotten about him & spending as much time at the hospital as I can manage... With that said; because of ALL OF THAT, I didn't get a lot accomplished on the blog last week; but I thought I might get a pass for that (;

Things are slightly calmer this upcoming week; but just slightly. My school started back up; so classes and school work are kicking my butt. I'm currently in school EMT, but I am working on getting accepted for Paramedic (which I have to complete EMT and Advanced EMT first) - but it's like applying for school all over again; WHILE I am currently in school. And they only pick a certain number of people and goodness does it get overwhelming sometimes! I need a coffee, or 12.

We are taking the kids, along with one of my friends and her family to see ICE! this upcoming weekend, which will be fun! We go every year, so I need this sort of break right now. I didn't get as much reading in last week as I would have liked; but I am working on my #HoHoHo Readathon (info on the right sidebar!) and I am working on my #ASeriesAMonth Challenge as well!
I hope everyone had a fantastic week!

  1. My Dad had some heart issues earlier this year too and it was frightening to see him like that. So I wish your Dad to get well soon and for you and your family all the strength you need. And good luck for your Paramedic.

  2. I'm so glad to hear that your dad is doing okay. My dad had a heart attack when I was six, and it was so scary!

    Sadly, last year his heart and lungs did give out after 20 years, but those surgeries did give us a LOT more time! Cherish every moment <3

  4. Glad to hear your dad is recovering. That is so frightening! Good luck with school-I remember how stressful things got when I was in school and applying for graduate programs and such.

  5. It's good your dad is doing so well. My dad survived several heart attacks until he got much older. I hope things balance out for you this week and I'll look forward to seeing you around COYER!
